Chocolate Block Swap

Here is a block I made for a swap I participated in on Connecting Threads. The theme for the swap was Chocolate which is something that is near and dear to my heart. You see I love chocolate and really think that although I know it is the reason for obesity, used it moderation it is wonderful, and you can still keep your semi girlish figure. Although I would love to be able to fit or look good in a two piece bathing suit, I am 62 years old, so why think I would even be appealing. I am happy the way I am. Oh By the way, the lower right hand side that is Hot Chocolate!!! Didn't turn out the way I wanted it to but Oh Well.

Off to work

Well DH and I went off to work today, it is a 100 mile drive, but the time away from home is good for the two of us.
We had our annual Valentine dinner Sunday night at the church, what a good time. I cooked three prime ribs at 15 minute intervals. Worked out pretty good, the middle one did not get quite as done as I would have liked, so just put it into the roaster with the hot AuJus and went on to number 3. Worked out just great. We had 57 there, 8 came back through the line for seconds on prime rib.
I have been doing quite a bit of machine quilting lately. Has been nice to not be behind. Now for some of my own work, have a Sudoku quilt that is a table cloth that I did not like the way I did it the first time so I am picking the stitches out and will re-do it.
Have not decided on what my next large art quilt will be yet, have a couple of ideas, but will have to pray about it. The last one I did took way too much out of me, mainly because it did not turn out the way I had planned, but it did do well at the exhibit, so why worry.

Fat Quarters & Art Quilts

I never understand why I ever bought fat quarters. I have not decided that I have to have at least a half yard or more, never know when you will need it. I sorted through just one tub of fat quarters and it filled a basket over 75. I am on a mission to make quilts scrappy, in an attempt to get rid of fat quarters.
We went to the Stuhr Museum to see the quilt exhibit and contest. It was nice to see my quilt hanging on the wall, not a winner, but just the same was glad it was there. I know that that is what I enjoy doing, so will continue as long as I can.

Nice Day

What a day, off this morning early 40 miles to buy flour and so DH could get screws for his saw. Got a call from a friend who's new dog, she got at the humane society had run off and she couldn't find it. They really live in the sticks. We were shopping and got a call from her, she was another 20 miles from where we were, she had found him, but he had fallen 15' into a grain pit. She has a knee problem and her parents were there but they are 85 YOA. So off we went, as I was the smallest of all of them. Down a small hole, down a metal ladder and there he was, so ready to be out of the pit.
